My Time In Iraq
Counter
This room is called the Prayer Room.  When we first got to the Palace, this is where everyone stayed.  Male and Female.  There was two murials in the
room.  One on one side of the room that represented the East.  This was a picture of the palace with blue skys and green grass.  The other side of the
room represented the west (us) and was a picture of missiles headed in our direction.  Still think Saddam would have left us alone?  The Murial on the
ceiling represents their idea of heaven according to their religion.  Also on the ceiling was this beautiful ornate artwork.  I asked an interpreter if it was
writing.  He looked and said it was the initials of Saddam.  They were all over the Palace!  Talk about ate up!
These next photos are of the Dining Facility.  Before we ate their, it was a meeting hall for Saddam.  A huge table was in there and had to be cut apart before
they (The Marines) could remove it.  According to the Iraqi's, Saddams henchmen would parade Iraqi's through this room for sentencing.  Then into the prayer
room before going to prison or being put to death.  If you went into that room, you were never "Not Guilty".
This hung in the dining room.  In each of those little black circles, is
Saddam's Initials
